This newest café-bakery cum comfort food haven is home to some Global Academy interns who its head honcho Chef Lica Ibarra warmly welcomes. Into her kitchen and second home, this entrepreneurial and adventurous chef lets our interns in not only in the making of her Filipino-inspired creations, but into her world of delicious dreams.
A plus for establishments with working interns is their adaptability to new environment. “Global Academy interns are easy to teach, as they are fast learners. They are able to execute the recipes well and they are not a burden in the kitchen”, Chef Lica says. As a result, ABKD functions with its interns without disrupting its clockwork. The young and dynamic chef continues, “They are very disciplined and systematic. They have proper hygiene and they demonstrate proper food handling.’’
It is apparent that in whichever kitchen Global Academy interns are blessed to display their acquired disciplines and training in, they efficiently blend in.
