Chef Cédric Vongerichten is the son of one of the world’s most famous chefs, Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. A graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, Chef Cédric worked through the ranks at several Jean Georges Restaurants. After working as a Sous Chef at Jean Georges, he was appointed to his current position as Chef de Cuisine at Perry St Restaurant. Chef Cédric was most recently named by Zagat as one of the top 30 up and coming chefs under 30.*

This is the caliber that Shennyl Tan, one of Global Academy’s first batch of Superior Diploma in Culinary, Baking, and Pastry Arts graduates, was privileged to experience. Shennyl recently returned from her stint at Perry Street Restaurant in New York, an internship made possible with the assistance of Global Academy’s partner-agency, Placement International.

Chef Cédric helms the Perry Street kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French, American and Asian influences and ingredients.** Under his mentorship, Shennyl took to this rigorous and fierce kitchen and performed her heart out, applying the world-class training and disciplines she acquired as a student. Chef Cedric’s message upon Shenny’ls completion says it all, expressing his being pleased by his intern’s performance and by Global Academy’s student training in skills and emotional preparedness. “I only have positive things to say”, Chef Cedric encompasses.
