Let’s hear it from one of the 2019 Global Grit Battle of the Southern Stars Champions - Jerry Comia!

Jerry is the International Cuisines (SDIC) Batch 7 student who bested the other competitors in the Savory Category. His entry “Seafood Medley” was executed under the vigilant eyes of his instructor and coach, Chef Ching Yoingco. “Without Chef Ching, I wouldn’t have executed my dish right. I practiced really hard until the dish was perfect - this is my driving force to win.

Just like in the real kitchen world, “ Jerry continues, “burners may unexpectedly burn unevenly, the body gets weary, stress and lack of sleep are imminent, and the competitive environment may dishearten. After conquering these challenges however, and after all the world-class training I have gained from Global Academy, I believe that I have gained resilience for my desired career.
